You’ll get to tour some amazing breweries and maybe get a growler or two! Here’s a little bit of info about them:

Olde Mother Brewing Company – This brewing company on E. Patrick Street, opened the Summer of 2015 and has a wide variety of brews from IPAs to Sours on draft. Started by business partners Nick and Keith, they offer “typical craft beers that will suit your palette” but also offers a heads-up for “a few twists and unique flavor profiles.”

Flying Dog Brewery – The most regionally recognized brands of beer from Frederick, MD is the eccentric Flying Dog brand! Started in 1990 by George Stranahan and Richard McIntyre, there is a long and complicated story behind the name. Now they have a wide variety of steadfast brews, all with…let’s just say…creative names. Their seasonal brews are also popular, with the most iconic being their Dead Rise Old Bay Ale for summer.

Smoketown Brewing Station – Homed in Brunswick’s former fire station, this brewery offers a full spectrum of beers, named after Frederick County’s historical sites and stories! You can bring your own food from the restaurants around town and take a seat on their patio in warmer months or the tasting room. From there, all you need to do is order a flight to sample their brews and relax.

Red Shedman Farm Brewery –  (Saturday Only!) This brewery out in Mount Airy, Maryland has a great mix of beers, from their Honey Bourbon Rye Ale to their “Lunatic Fringe,” an IPA infused with habanero peppers. The brewmaster, Victor Aellen, trained in Beer City USA (Grand Rapids, Mi.) with two of the best brewers around. After leaving his mark in Michigan, he partnered with Linganore Winecellars, a match splendidly made.

People’s Blues of Richmond at Flying Dog Brewery

You may think you know every acronym behind PBR, but think again! People’s Blues of Richmond (PBR), an up-and-coming band with a sound of carnival-like mayhem mixed with psychedelic blues, is coming to Flying Dog Brewery on July 18th.  This power trio’s newest single, “Gone Gone Gone,” was produced by the notorious Mark Neill- mastermind behind Grammy winning record Brothers by The Black Keys.

Critics from all over can assure you this is one show you won’t want to miss.  Relix Magazine described the sound of this embryonic band as, “…blues meets Modest Mouse-inspired crunch.” Creative Loafing states “[PBR is] A cross between The Black Keys and Black Sabbath with a healthy dose of Led Zeppelin cock-strut appeal- dark and heavy rock n’ roll, dosed in psychedelia and driven by metal-shredded guitar and bluesy riffage.”

The reputation behind the raw intensity of PBR is spreading like wild fire. Their live performances attract large flocks of fans at festivals like Lockn’ & Electric Forest. The trio has shared stages with big names like Modest Mouse and Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes. The band also shares bills with an impressive collection of artists including JJ Grey & Mofro to Dinosaur Jr.

Come see the show at Flying Dog Brewery in Frederick, July 18th. Doors open at 5pm and you must be 21+ with a valid photo ID to enter. Other performances include sets by Surfer Blood and The Sun Club. Tickets are available at flyingdogtix.com.
